Project Cargo Case Study – Emerson, Cluj

Requirement

To transport heavy machinery and electrical equipment from Cluj, Romania to Cairo, Egypt.

Solution

Modpack have expertise in export packing and project cargo requirements. Modpack manufactured the oversized wooden and plywood boxes in line with regulations. Then, assembled the necessary packaging pieces at the client premises packing up the heavy machinery safely and securely. The electrical equipment was protected for maritime transport. Aluminium barrier foil and desiccant (a hygroscopic substance used as a drying agent) were used in the export packing for protecting the machinery. The equipment was stored and protected in the boxes for a year at the client’s premises.

In December 2019, two Modpack teams we deployed and arranged the road transport from Cluj to Constanta (harbour). Modpack are a single source supplier, therefore arranging all the transport permits and creating a route plan. The boxes were then loaded onto the trucks.  At Constanta port the oversized export packing boxes were offloaded. Modpack vehicles escorted the convoy at both ends and drove throughout the night. The boxes arrived in Cairo, Egypt safely and securely.
